Outlook 15 Mac, ignoresIMAP root folder setting

I cannot get Outlook 15 Mac to use INBOX as the IMAP root folder.  I change it in the advanced setting, hit enter, wait for the folders to repopulate but Outlook always acts like there is nothing in the root folder setting so all of my folders are in an inbox subfolder instead of outlook STARTING in the inbox folder.  Outlook 2011 worked fine.
